Frederick Hodges – Jazz Pianist

$25.00$200.00

Friday, February 14, 7:00 – 9:00 PM
Berger Center, $25,
Table Seating

Journey with pianist Frederick Hodges through musical selections from the golden age of jazz. From the toe tapping tunes of George Gershwin, to Irving Berlin and Cole-Porter. A full concert of the best ragtime piano solos and songs, illustrating the incredible richness and variety of American music of the first two decades of the 20th century.

With both global and local performances under his belt, it’s no wonder this versatile artist has gained such a devoted following. Jazz enthusiasts know his ragtime, stride, and novelty piano solo pieces from the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the WestCoast Ragtime Festival, The Blind Boone Festival in Columbia Missouri, and the Templeton Ragtime Festival at Mississippi.

Hodges has appeared on national television, radio, and in several Hollywood films. He is also a much sought-after silent film accompanist for both live performances and on DVD. He performs regularly at the Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum.

“Frederick Hodges…does things on a piano that seem impossible to me!”—
Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society
