Barbara Higbie is a Grammy-nominated, Bammy Award-winning pianist/composer/ singer-songwriter as well as a championship fiddler. She has added here talents to over 65 albums, performing with musical icons such as Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, and Spyro Gyra.

The LA Times describes Higbie as “A jolt of bright sunlight”, while her music is described as innovative and moving.

Known, as a brilliant collaborator, Oakmont enjoys the pleasure of getting to know Higbie’s equally high energy band mates in a performance of seasonal tunes: Guitarist/vocalist, Vicki Randle; Percussionist, Michaelle Goerlitz; Bassist, Kofy Brown; Mandolin prodigy, Jasper Manning; Mia Pixley, cellist.

It’s no wonder that Barbara has enjoyed decades of touring nationally and internationally.  Her family moved to Ghana, West Africa when she was thirteen years old, which is where she first fell in love with music and studied with master drummer Mustafa Tetty Addy. Later in life, after musical studies at Mills College, and the Sorbonne, she spent time performing in Paris,
